Most accounting software is now ‘cloud-based’ but how do you know what is right for you?
We started our journey with digital technology 8 years ago when we were looking for a cloud-based accounting system for our business clients. We spent time considering the various software providers and trialling their systems ourselves.
“The attraction to Xero was the ability to have a single source of information. Bank feeds pushed data directly into the accounting system and there are no requirements for backup or installing software updates.” Lawrence Golding, CEO.
Xero’s functionality allows other software to easily integrate into the system. Receipt bank automatically extract purchase invoices into Xero. Using machine learning the application will recommend which expense code to post the invoice to together with a scanned image of the purchase invoice. This process enhances reliability of input and reduces the risk of human error.
We utilise the software on a daily basis; not just for our clients but within the practice itself. We are constantly looking at new functionality or applications which enhance the user experience. We can provide guidance and advice about what will work for each client’s needs.
Using the integrated sales invoices means that monthly invoices are sent out by email automatically, saving time each month. Fixed fees are collected automatically through ‘go Cardless’, reducing time spent and improving cashflow. Paper files are reduced, with invoices being stored electronically, making them easier to retrieve and cutting down on waste.
“Utilising and testing applications in our own business has allowed us to confidently help our clients automate their processes and save them valuable time to concentrate on what they do best.” Alex Graham, Manager
