Many more customers are returning to restaurants to take advantage of the Governments ‘Eat Out to Help Out Scheme’.If you have registered for the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, we have put together some useful information below to make sure your business follows the correct guidance.

The discount is on food and/or non-alcoholic drink purchased for immediate consumption on premises only, up to a maximum discount of £10 per diner (inclusive of VAT).

The scheme is only available on Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s running until 31 August 2020.

Claims can be made every 7 days with the latest date to make the claim being 30 September 2020.

Eligible businesses for the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme:

  • Restaurants
  • Cafes
  • Public houses serving food
  • Hotel Restaurants
  • Restaurants and cafes within tourist attractions, holiday sites and leisure facilities
  • Dining rooms within members’ clubs
  • Workplace and school canteens

Record Keeping:

Establishments to record daily details of 50% discounts given to customers, including:

  • Number of people using the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme
  • Total values of sales using the scheme
  • Total amount of discount given per day

How to Claim under the ‘Eat Out to HelpOut’ Scheme:

  • You will claim the amounts discounted from your customers back from the Government
  • Wait 7 days from registering to make your first claim from the Government
  • When you register you’ll be given a reference. You’ll need this to make your claims
  • Claim every 7 days
  • Funds should be in your account within 5 working days
